Josh Smith, LMSW, BCD, is a Fully-Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Board Certified Diplomate with the American Board of Examiners in Clinical Social Work. He is the Co-Owner of the DBT Center of Michigan. Josh is currently a national trainer and consultant in DBT for PESI, LLC. He has trained and consulted with numerous rofessionals, agencies, universities, psychiatric inpatient units, and residential programs all over the country. He is an instructor in the Psychiatry Department at Michigan State University where he supervises and teaches DBT to 2nd and 3rd year psychiatry residents. Josh has experience working as an outpatient therapist at a community mental health agency where he was directly responsible for implementing a highly successful DBT program for adults and adolescents. He is currently in charge of treatment adherence and research at the center and serves as team leader in the Lansing office. Josh is currently the Center's coordinator in a longitudinal research project on DBT in conjunction with Michigan State University's Department of Psychology. Josh has received the following DBT training: 10-day Intensive DBT Training in 2004 from Behavioral Tech, LLC and multiple one and two-day DBT trainings including Dr. Linehan's new emotion regulation module.
Reed M. Stewart, LMSW, BCD, is a Fully-Licensed Clinical and Macro Social Worker, a Board Certified Diplomate in Clinical Social Work, and the Co-Owner of the DBT Center of Michigan. Reed has trained multiple agencies in DBT and has co-facilitated several comprehensive DBT trainings on the seminar circuit. He has had extensive training in treating co-occurring mental health and substance abuse disorders. Reed spent time as a trainer for an initiative to “bridge the gap” between mental health and substance abuse programs in order to most effectively treat these disorders. He has experience working all over the U.S. in a number of practice settings. He has been a therapist for community mental health and a partial hospitalization program, the Clinical Coordinator for Albion College Counseling Center, and has worked in several acute and residential psychiatric units, substance abuse centers, juvenile justice centers, domestic violence and anger management programs, a Safe Schools Program, and in a super-maximum security penitentiary. Reed holds a graduate certificate in the treatment of substance abuse and is trained and proficient in EMDR. He currently practices out of the Lansing office as clinical supervisor and the Coldwater office as team leader. Reed also specializes in Mindfulness and Acceptance-based clinical strategies. Reed has received the following DBT training: 10-day Intensive DBT Training in 2004 from Behavioral Tech, LLC and many one and two-day trainings including Dr. Linehan's new emotion regulation module. Additionally, Reed has extensive training in the treatment of other Axis II disorders.
Diana Osborn, MA, LPC, is a Fully-Licensed Professional Counselor. She interned with the center in 2007 and joined the DBT Center team in 2008. Diana has extensive experience working with adjudicated adolescents and special education in the school system. She primarily treats adolescents and children with behavioral issues, Borderline Personality Disorder, depression/anxiety, oppositional defiant disorder, and bi-polar disorder. She specializes in treating "multi-disordered" adolescents and their families. Diana has provided trainings and lectures for multiple agencies in DBT. She is the center's innovator in adapting DBT for children and cognitively challenged clients and is researching these adaptations. Diana has received the following DBT training: 5-day Comprehensive DBT Training from PESI, LLC in 2008 and Dr. Marsha Linehan's new emotion regulation module. She has also attended training on sensory processing disorders and emotional/behavioral disorders.
Patti Tiberi, MSW, LLMSW holds her Limited License in Clinical Social Work. Patti has experience working with male adolescents with a variety of mental illnesses in a residential setting and with the developmentally disabled population providing in-home support and out-of-home Applied Behavior Analysis. She completed her graduate internship at the DBT Center in 2009-2010 and is the newest member of the team in Lansing. Patti is currently interested in working with individuals of all ages who experience a wide range of challenges, including but not limited to personality disorders, substance use disorders, eating disorders, and cognitive disabilities. She has worked as a Social Worker and therapist for Allegiance Health Behavioral Health Inpatient Psychiatric Unit. Patti has received the following DBT training: 5-Day Comprehensive DBT Training in March 2010 and Dr. Linehan's new emotion regulation module.
